Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 brown onion peeled, diced
- 2 clove garlic peeled, minced
- 1 kilogram beef mince
- 1 carrot peeled, grated
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano roughly chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 750 ml tomato passata
- 1/2 cup water
Directions
- In a banquet sized frypan, heat the oil over a medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until golden brown. Add the mince and cook until it is browned and separated.
- Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Simmer over a low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve, stirred through spaghetti and topped with shaved parmesan cheese.
NOTE: If cooking in a slow cooker, cook on high for 5 hours or on low for 8-10.
