Olive and Bacon Cake Pops

    INGREDIENTS

    • 60g butter, softened
    • 1 x 59g free range egg
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 3/4 cup plain flour
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup bacon bits
    • 1/4 cup sliced olives
    • 1/4 cup shredded cheese

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Preheat cake pop maker until the ready light illuminates.
    2. Combine butter and egg.
    3. Fold through the baking powder, flour, bacon, olives, cheese and milk until just combined.
    4. Add a heaped teaspoon of mixture to each cake pop well and close the lid for 5–6 minutes.
    5. Remove using heatproof tongs and place onto a cake rack to cool

      Just made them today, yum! I added 1 tablespoon of cornmeal to the mix. I couldn't stop at one, so next time might add some cayenne to easier control my eating portions. I enjoyed them with home made tomato chutney and pickled red cabbage for a hot day lunch. I made them to freeze and use for snacks on the go. Thanks for the recipe!
