    Ingredients

    • 1 packet dried yeast (9g)
    • 1/2 cup warm water
    • 1 teaspoon caster sugar
    • 3 cups bakers flour
    • 1 cup warm water

    Directions

    1. Place the yeast and 1/2 cup of warm water into the bread maker bread tin and allow to stand for 15 minutes.
    2. Add the rest of the ingredients and then select the ‘dough’ setting on the bread maker. Press start and allow the bread maker to make the dough.
    3. Preheat a fan forced oven to 220°C. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
    4. Cut the dough into 12 pieces and roll into balls.  Place evenly over the baking trays and allow to stand for 15 minutes. Roll each dough ball out until it is 15cm wide and then place back onto the baking trays, 2 at a time. Cook for 4 minutes on the first side and then flip over to cook the other side for a further 2 minutes. Repeat until all pitas are cooked.
    5. Serve with tabouli, hummus and falafels.
