Every few months, the Kambrook team learns a new thing or two about a different type of food or cuisine. This time, we made our very own sushi rolls, using our jar rice cooker, as well as a yummy Asian style salad made in our very own food processor. Look at the mess we got into!

Here is a quick summary of our easy sushi rice recipe. To steam the asparagus, all you do is chuck them into the steaming tray and straight into the jar rice cooker. Close the lid for 4 minutes and allow to steam. If you have never used a jar rice cooker before, you won’t go back to a regular rice cooker. They hold in the moisture so that your rice doesn’t dry out and become gluggy. They steam vegetables perfectly and make a perfect risotto!

We had an array of different sushi fillings that we chose to stuff ourselves with. Chicken schnitzel (homemade!), tuna with Japanese mayo, prawns, cucumber, avocado and steamed asparagus.

I don’t want to show off too much, but did you know what we made this from?

    Enjoy.
