Each year we visit a local farm that allows you to pick-your own-berries. The kids and I collect kilos of strawberries, and also some blackberries and loganberries.  Generally I freeze some of the berries to be used in baking during the year. I also make up batches of jam, and sorbet.  We also have a berry feast the day we collect them, enjoying the fresh sweet flavour of the little sun ripen jewels.

This year I have been using the Blitz2Go Blender to whip up milkshakes and ice-blocks for the kids. The ice-blocks are simply frozen versions of whatever ingredients I use in the blender, poured into molds and left to set in the freezer.   The boys enjoy these as treat on a hot day, after school or dinner.

My Strawberry Lime Frosty recipe came about after a hot morning picking berries. It is cool and very refreshing. I enjoy the slight fizz added by the light sparkling water as a change to milk based drinks.
