    INGREDIENTS

    • 1 tbsp dry yeast
    • 1 cup warm water
    • ¼ cup white sugar
    • 3 tbsp milk
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 2 tsp salt
    • 3 cups flour
    • ¼ cup melted butter, or ghee

    DIRECTIONS

    1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Allow to stand for about 10 minutes, until frothy. Stir in sugar, milk, egg, salt, and flour. Transfer to a lightly floured bench and knead for 6-8 minutes, or until smooth.
    2. Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with a clean damp tea towel. Let it rise for 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in volume.
    3. Punch down dough, and pull off small handfuls to roll into balls. Place them on a tray, and cover with a tea towel. Allow to rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
    4. During the second rising, preheat the Air Chef to 200°C and turn the timer dial to 5 minutes.
    5. Press the balls of dough out into thin circles.
    6. Once the ‘HEATING’ light goes off, turn the timer dial to 5-10 minutes.
    7. Place one naan at a time in the Air Chef basket and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until puffy and lightly browned. Brush both sides with butter, and return to the Air Chef for another 2 to 4 minutes, until browned.
    8. Repeat step 5 with remaining naans.
